JOB SUMMARY
- Direct, coordinate, and review all activities of the Quality Inspectors to ensure the needs of internal and external Customers are being met.
- Recruit, interview, and hire quality inspectors and make sure to provide the tools need for inspectors be success in their functions.
- Implements quality plans, programs, and procedures using quality control statistics, lean manufacturing concepts, and data analysis. Reviews, analyzes, and reports on quality discrepancies related to the assembly process.
- Leads the manufacturing operations team for investigation of problems and develops dispositions, modifications, and corrective actions for recurring or non-recurring discrepancies.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Employee and Team Development:
- Identify individual and team strengths and development needs on an ongoing basis.
- Create and/or validate training curriculum in area of responsibility.
- Responsible for the generation / updating / maintenance the Matrix for the direct reports.
Performance Management:
- Establish clear measurable goals and objectives by which to determine individual and team results (i.e. operational metrics, results against project timelines, training documentation, attendance records, knowledge of operational roles and responsibilities, personal development goals).
- Solicit ongoing feedback from Line Managers, Quality Engineers, Workcell managers, peers and team members on team member's contribution to the team. Provide ongoing coaching and counseling to team member based on feedback.
- Express pride in staff and encourage them to feel good about their accomplishments.
- Perform team member evaluations professionally and on time.
- Drive individuals and the team to continuously improve in key operational metrics and the achievement of the organizational goals.
- Coordinate activities of teams and keep them focused on times of crises.
- Ensure recognition and rewards are managed fairly and consistently in area of responsibility.
- Provide communication forum for the exchange of ideas and information with the department.
- Organize verbal and written ideas clearly and use an appropriate business style.
- Ask questions; encourage input from staff.
- Assess communication style of individual team members and adapt own communication style accordingly.
- Handle the quality operations KPIs (NCMRs, OBA, etc).
Operations:
- Lead the plan quality operation activities, assuring the correct execution of quality tests for product release.
- Approve batch record documentation and revising of manufacturing processes.
- Assists in the process for ensuring that corrective actions (CAPA) are completed in accordance with relevant ISO requirements (ISO 9001 and ISO 13485), Jabil Problem Solving methods, and that documentation is complete and compliant with requirements.
- Support and assist the CAPAs, Complaints investigations.
- Assists validation owners ensuring that the validation processes are completed in accordance with the applicable ISO requirements (ISO 13485), CFR 21 Part 820 and local procedure requirements.
- Comply and follow all procedures within the company security policy.
- Provide support to all Safety, Health and Environment (EHS) programs and initiatives in order to support our zero accidents culture.
- May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS
- Problem solving skills: Provide technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems.
- Provides solutions which are imaginative, thorough, practical, and consistent with project objectives.
- Intermedium level in the use of Minitab and Quality Statistical tools knowledge.
- Able to provide technical recommendations in topics with medium complexity.
