JOB SUMMARY
Establish and promote the maintenance of a safe, accident-free, healthy work environment at Jabil ETO Facility, that is
compliant with all applicable local, state, and federal regulations. Develop and maintain safety policies, procedures and
employee communications regarding safety guidelines. Train employees in safe workplace practices.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Activities will be carried out at Jabil's New ETO Facility:
- Develops and implements general safety policies and procedures to be followed by company personnel in compliance with
local, state, regional, and national safety and health rules and regulations.
- Consults with all departments on design and use of equipment, fire prevention and safety programs.
- Lays out manufacturing workspace to optimize safe working environment.
- Formulates appropriate safety policies and guidelines.
- Inspects or tours facilities to detect existing or potential accident and health hazards.
- Recommends corrective or preventative measures where indicated.
- Keeps managers and employees alerted as to the hazards of working with toxic fumes, dangerous chemicals, and any other
hazardous substances specially related to Ethylene Oxide (EO).
- Develops training programs and communications to increase proficiency in safe practices and promote safety
consciousness.
- Participates in accident/injury investigations.
- Maintains safety files and records.
- May report to management on health and safety issues and concerns.
- Supports all company safety and quality programs and initiatives.
- Other responsibilities may be assigned from time to time as needed, based on the evolution of the company and the
requirements of the department/position.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS
- Process safety management PSM.
- Chemical processing or manufacturing.
- Knowledge of machinery safety, LOTO procedures and electrical safety.
- Competent in developing emergency response plans and procedures.
- Competent in chemical & hazardous substances evaluation, handling and controls implementation.
- Knowledge of high hazard task (Eg. Work at height, explosive atmospheres environments, hot work, confined spaces,
etc.), experience issuing work permits.
- Knowledge of Safety, Health and environmental laws and regulations for the Dominican Republic (other international
regulations, OSHA, NFPA, etc. are a plus).
- Experience working in time bound projects.
- English language proficiency is mandatory.
- Computer skills including but not limited to: Microsoft Office (Word, excel, power point), Teams, Outlook, etc.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's Degree required: Industrial engineer, chemical engineer or any other related field degree.
- Minimium 4 years of experience in Safety, Health and Environmental roles, or an equivalent combination of education,
training or experience.
- Experience working with Ethylene Oxide sterilization projects is a plus.
- Safety, Health and Environment studies and formations.
