Under the supervision of the Finance & Administration Manager, the Administrative Assistant 4 / Inventory & Logistics Officer manages local procurement and the logistics and warehousing functions of the PMI AIRS Dominican Republic project.
Specific duties and responsibilities include the following:
• Overall responsible for the expandable project inventory management (equipment and materials for technical activities) and logistics of technical activities
• Maintains accurate inventory records in accordance with Abt Associates and USAID/PMI requirements.
• Assists in the quantification of vector control and entomological equipment and materials including larvicides, personal protective equipment and other supplies.
• Conducts timely commodity, equipment and supplies needs assessments in the run up to the launch of vector control and other technical activities.
• Monitors insecticide and larvicide stock levels during vector control campaigns with a view to preventing stock-outs.
• Prepares operational transport and vehicle plans.
• Organize and accompany meetings between partners, national bodies, local organizations, and sub-national governments to plan common activities.
• Ensure the goods and services for the development of the Project activities. This activity should be carried out in close coordination with the project managers and the project management team.
• Prepares pre-campaign dispatch plans for vector control materials, commodities and equipment.
• Directs and supervises the storage, distribution, and transport of commodities, materials and equipment throughout the target areas.
• Ensures timely delivery of stock items to operating sites prior to the launch of vector control activities.
• Assit with logistics and transportation for activties implemented jointly with partners and governemtn stakeholders
• Support Provide logistical support to trainings and other capacity building activities implemented by the project or jointly with partners and government stakeholders.
In collaboration with the Environmental Compliance Officer:
· Ensures that all health and safety measures are in place and followed at all stores and operation sites.
· Ensures the clearance and proper disposal of all waste material and excess items from project stores.
Qualification requirements include the following:
• Bachelors Degree in Logistics, Business, Management, Administration, or other relevant field.
• At least two (2) years of relevant professional experience in the management of program logistics and inventory management.
• Demonstrated experience in inventory management and program logistics.
• Excellent management, supervisory, organizational, computer, and writing skills.
• Communication skills in English are desirable.
• Ability to work under pressure.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
