RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Legal focal point in Argentina for advising the business and management, and ensuring compliance with laws and regulations.
• Participates in, and formulates clear and practical advice on, complex litigation and projects, and other legal and compliance matters, both locally and cluster-wise.
• Drafts, reviews and comments on various legal, corporate, and compliance documents.
• Balances costs and benefits of potential actions and recommends appropriately.
• Manages external law firms according to their respective field of expertise, on an as needed basis, as well as manages, negotiates and controls external counsel legal fees.
• Manages, implements and ensures fulfillment and understanding of local, regional and corporate compliance policies & programs.
• Conducts and organizes trainings to managers and staff on law and compliance.
• When applicable, recommends department budget and consistently deploys resources within approved budgets.
• Progressively covers the cluster (Venezuela and Central America.)

ACADEMIC FORMATION:

• Law degree and admission to practice in Panama or Venezuela.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• 7 continuous years of professional experience since admission.
• In-house experience with a multinational and/or in a 1st tier law firm.
• Orientation in corporate, M&A, and/or international business law.
• Must have full spoken and written command of English language.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Logistics and international trade experience is a plus.
